Guided Saltwater Trips with JT Van Zandt:
Full day trips will be approximately 6-8 hours in length (determined by angler preference), Half day trips are 4 hours. Ice and water are provided in reusable stainless canteens. Feel free to bring any other food and beverages you desire. JT can arrange to prepare a shore lunch and provide cuisine when requested at an additional cost.

Weekends and holidays can be very difficult due to recreational and tournament traffic on the bays. If you have the luxury of scheduling your trip during the week please do. If weekends are your only opportunities then we'll make it work, but please understand that we'll be dealing with busy crowds and skittish fish.

Other Opportunities:

Colorado River jet boat trips. Fly fishing for bass

Guadalupe River Delta jet boat trips. Some bass, reds, trout and large gar. Mostly a sight seeing trip with some fishing. This is a wild part of Texas and one of my favorite floats to do.

Paddling expeditions, over night camp outs with fine cuisine shore meals. Want to paddle the Colorado River from Austin to Matagorda? Want to paddle the Texas Water Safari course from San Marcos to Sea Drift? How about paddling from Mansfield To Port Aransas, or circumvent San Jose Island?  You dream it, JT can arrange it and guide you through it. These are customizable trips of a lifetime and can be as challenging or as casual as you desire. Rates will be quoted based on the details of the trip.

Flies
Flies are supplied for the angler but in the event you wish to bring your own: Clouser Minnows, Blind Chickens, and a variety of shrimp and crab pattern work well. Depending on water clarity, a mix of bright colors like white, pink and chartreuse as well as a selection of natural colors like tan cream and brown.

Polarized sunglasses are critical. Fishing License, Dark under-brim hat, quick drying tropical clothing. Sun protection such as a Buff, sun gloves, unscented lotion type sunscreen/ not spray. Deck or boat shoes with grippy souls. No black soled scuffing shoes please.
